Gemotions

The gentle rocking of the hammock was almost a lullaby. The sun, filtered through the leaves of the old oak tree, dappled the ground with shifting patterns of light and shadow. I could hear the faint chirping of crickets, the distant sounds of children playing. Pure bliss.

My neighbor, Mrs. Gable, was always friendly, but she seemed to have very little means. She was always wearing worn-out clothes, her house needed some serious repairs, and she always drove an old, beat-up car. She seemed to live a simple, almost impoverished, life.

One morning, I was drinking coffee on my porch when I noticed a man in a crisp suit, carrying a large briefcase, entering her house. Then, a few minutes later, a chauffeur opened the door of a Rolls-Royce, and Mrs. Gable emerged, dressed in a stunning designer outfit. I nearly choked on my drink.
